Cabagini
Cabagini is our name for Cabbage. It is a fun way of saying that this is a mini version of Cabbage.
Cabagini goes well with pork, bacon, beef, blue cheese, coriander, feta cheese, garlic, mustard and walnuts.
A single serving of cabbage contains nearly half of the daily Vitamin C requirement and has significant levels of manganese, iron, and vitamin B6. Cabbage is used for stomach pain, stomach and intestinal ulcers, acid reflux (GERD), a stomach condition called Roemheld syndrome, and high cholesterol. Cabbage is also used to treat asthma and morning sickness. It is also used to prevent weak bones (osteoporosis), as well as cancer.
Cabbage has been in cultivation for thousands of years. The ancient Romans loved it and used it for several purposes. Cato advised eating cabbage soaked in vinegar before embarking upon an evening of heavy drinking and the accepted remedy for a Roman hangover was simply more cabbage. Captain Cook's sailors who were injured in a storm had their wounds bound with cabbage to help prevent gangrene as it has significant antibacterial properties.
